Introduction

Advanced Counselling Level 4

Course code: CNL03

Delivery method: Paper Based or Online

Course duration: 12 Months

Entry requirements: No prior qualification needed

Award achieved: ABC Certificate of Achievement

Awarding body: ABC

This distance course is designed to do two things. Firstly, to introduce you to a range of conditions, problems, and issues that counsellors will have to work with. These include things like addiction, mental illness, and personal crises. In addition, it will also provide you with some of the tools, techniques, and theoretical knowledge that you can use to help people deal with these problems.

Secondly, the course will take you through the practical considerations and steps that you will need to take in order to become a counsellor: setting up in private practice, gaining the appropriate insurance, getting registered, and other things connected with the actual experience of being a counsellor. This course is a first step on the path to becoming a counsellor, not the last.
